Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with flame retardant (flame retardant value for more than 40), high chemical resistance (resistance to strong hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid concentration is 90%, the concentration of 60% concentration of nitric acid and 20% sodium hydroxide), the advantages of good mechanical strength and electrical insulation.

The stability of polyvinyl chloride to light and heat is poor.Softening point is 80 ℃, 130 ℃ starts to break down.Without heat stabilizers, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) 100 ℃ which began to decompose, above 130 ℃ break down faster.When heated, the hydrogen chloride gas is decomposed and discolored from white to pale yellow to red to brown to black.Ultraviolet rays and oxygen in the sun can cause the photooxidation and decomposition of polyvinyl chloride, so that the flexibility of polyvinyl chloride decreased, and finally brittle.It is not hard to understand why some PVC plastics turn yellow and brittle over time.

It has stable physical and chemical properties and is insoluble in water, alcohol and gasoline.It can withstand hydrochloric acid of any concentration, sulfuric acid of less than 90%, nitric acid of 50-60% and caustic soda of less than 20% at room temperature, and has certain anti-chemical corrosion.It is quite stable to salt, but it can dissolve in organic solvents such as ether, ketone, chlorinated fatty hydrocarbon and aromatic hydrocarbon.

 Industrial polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin are main crystalline structure, but also contains some crystal area (about 5%), so the melting point of PVC without apparent, about 80 ℃ or so began to soften, heat distortion temperature (1.82 MPa) under load is 70-71 ℃, 150 ℃ under pressure to flow, and slowly began to release hydrogen chloride and the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) discoloration (change from yellow to red, brown, or black).The relative molecular weight of industrial polyvinyl chloride is between 48,000 and 48,000, and the corresponding relative molecular weight is between 20,000 and 19,500.The weight of most industrial resins is between 100,000 and 200,000 relative to molecular weight, and the number is between 455,000 and 64,000 relative to molecular weight.Rigid polyvinyl chloride (without plasticizer) has a good mechanical strength, weather resistance and flame resistance, can be used as structural material, separately on the application in chemical pipes, sheet and injection molding products.Rigid polyvinyl chloride can be reinforced with reinforced materials.

The biggest characteristic of PVC is flame retardant, so it is widely used in fire prevention.But polyvinyl chloride releases hydrogen chloride and other toxic gases, such as dioxins, during combustion.

The combustion of vinyl chloride is divided into two stages.In 240 ℃ to 340 ℃ before burning decomposition of hydrogen chloride gas and alkadiene contain a double bond, and then in 400-470 ℃ carbon burning.

It is one of the world's largest production of plastic products, cheap, widely used, PVC resin for white or light yellow powder.Different additives can be added according to different USES and different physical and mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride plastics can be presented.A variety of hard, soft and transparent products can be made by adding a suitable amount of plasticizer to polyvinyl chloride resin.

The density of pure PVC is 1.4g/cm3, and the density of PVC plastic parts with plastic izers and fillers is generally 1.15-2.00g/cm3.

Hard polyvinyl chloride has good tensile, flexural, compressive and impact resistance, and can be used as structural materials alone.

The softness, breaking elongation and cold resistance of soft polyvinyl chloride will increase, but the brittleness, hardness, tensile strength will decrease.

PVC has good electrical insulation performance, can be used as low frequency insulation material, its chemical stability is good.Due to the poor thermal stability of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), heating for a long time can lead to decompose, release HCL gas, discoloring the polyvinyl chloride (PVC), so its application scope is narrow, with temperatures between 15 ~ 55 ℃ in general.
